Rodgers Memorial Library is excited to announce that we are embarking on a strategic planning process to set a clear direction for our programs, services, and plans for the next five years. This process is an opportunity for all Hudson residents to weigh in on how the library can best serve the community.
To gather input from across the town and help craft our strategic plan, we have partnered with a professional facilitator, David Wagner of Clear Mission Consulting. David will be conducting interviews and focus groups with select residents to understand their perspectives on the library – even if they don’t use the library or its services. Everyone will also be invited to complete a town-wide survey, planned for this May, and to comment on the draft plan (planned for August) before it is finalized.

This plan represents the input from hundreds of members of the community and the tireless work of a core team of RML Trustees, Staff, and volunteer Friends of the Library and other patrons. On behalf of that core team, I want to thank you so much for your input and participation throughout this process.

DRAFT Strategic Plan for the Rodgers Memorial Library
July 18, 2025 Update
Hudson Residents,
In May, you and nearly 200 of your fellow residents responded to a community-wide survey about the Rodgers Memorial Library. We're pleased to share highlights from that survey and an update on the strategic planning process.
Survey Results:
The survey returned overwhelmingly positive feedback about the Library overall, its services, hours, and staff. Your feedback also pointed to areas where the Library could improve to be an even more valuable resource to the community.
Draft Strategic Goals:
Based on the survey results and other input provided in interviews and focus groups with community members, a core team of Trustees, staff, Friends, and patrons has identified several draft strategic goals for improving the Library’s service to Hudson.
What's Next:
The core strategy team is currently reviewing specific suggestions provided in the survey and in interviews and focus groups with community members. They have identified a set of candidate initiatives to meet the draft strategic goals listed in the attached report. This month, the team is selecting efforts to prioritize and developing action plans to implement key projects. We expect to have a draft strategic plan prepared for community review and input in August.
