Internet Access
Wireless Internet access is freely available at all locations of the Library. The network name is RML Patron WiFi.
You may also use your own Wifi enabled device to access the internet through the library's FREE Wifi network. You can access our FREE Wifi anywhere within 50-75 feet outside of our building. Bring your device and browse in your car, on the stone benches just outside our main entrance, or anywhere on our lovely grounds.
To access the library Wifi from outside our building:
- In your settings, go to "Wi-Fi"
- Select the network "RML Patron WiFi" (If the network doesn't appear, try moving a bit closer to the building).
- You will be directed to an authentication page.
- If not directed to our authentication page, open a browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.) and input the URL rodgerslibrary.org and allow the page to load.
- Click "Continue."
- Click "Done."
- You're in!
Public Access Computers
The library provides a number of public access computers for free use. They may be used up to one hour per day. Time extensions can be given at the discretion of the staff if no one is waiting.
Currently we are offering six computers for both patrons and guests. Patrons can use their library card and PIN number to log on. Single-use guest passes are available at the Reference Desk.
Public Internet Safety PSA
Our public access computers use Deep Freeze, a reboot-to-restore software that returns each computer to its original settings upon logout. This prevents changes between users, protects against viruses and malware, and ensures patron information is not stored on the computer.
Deep Freeze does not protect information you email or submit online. Use caution when sending personal information online, especially on public Wi-Fi, such as the Library’s. Whenever possible, use a private, password-protected internet connection.
To reduce security risks; if you need to complete online tasks involving personal information in the Library, you may ask to borrow a password-protected hotspot at the library desk. We also recommend using only websites that start with https://, an internet encryption protocol.
Examples of personal information include, but are not limited to:
- Names, addresses, and private contact information
- Social security and employment identification numbers
- Credit or debit card numbers and pins
- Driver’s license images and numbers
- Medical and prescription records
- Bank account information
