Seed Library Donations

Help us grow a Seed Library for the Hudson Community! Graphic of seeds and plants that says: Help us grow a seed library.

Throughout the Spring of 2026, Rodgers Memorial Library will accept seed donations to start a Seed Library providing community access to vegetable, herb, flower, and native plant seeds to library patrons and individuals of the Hudson Community. The goal for the Seed Library is to encourage lifelong learning and community participation in sustainable gardening, environmental stewardship, and food security.

The library will accept seed donations through April 30, 2026. After that date, continued donations will be determined based on need and space.

Where will the Seed Library be located?

To keep the seeds in a cool, dry environment, the Seed Library will be housed in a repurposed old card-catalog filing cabinet, which will be located in Rodgers Memorial Library across from the main circulation desk.

How will the Seed Library work?

Patrons may select up to 3 packets per visit, seeds are provided at no cost.

Patrons are encouraged to participate in seed saving to replenish the community Seed Library.
