  • Tuesday, Thursday: 9:30am – 8:45pm
  • Saturday: 9:30am – 1:00pm
  • Sunday: CLOSED

We will be inviting up to 20 people at a time to come inside and browse our extended collection of new books and explore our updated stacks, and check out or return books.

Some things to keep in mind when visiting the library:

  • Per Town of Hudson requirements, masks must be worn at all times inside the building.
  • Please maintain social distancing of 6 feet.
  • The library is open for browsing our collection and circulation services only. No meeting or study spaces are available at this time.
  • There is no seating available except at the patron computers.
  • All curbside services – including item pick-ups and drop-offs – will continue for those patrons who prefer not to enter the library building. Please call the library for more information on these services.
  • Public bathrooms will not be available during this time.
  • We are not accepting material donations (books, DVDs, etc.) of any kind.

We are so excited to re-open the doors and see all of you again! Things are not quite back to normal, but we are eagerly seeking new ways to serve our wonderful Hudson community.

See you real soon!

A message about re-opening from Library Director Linda Pilla

Dear Hudson Community,

As many of you are aware, Governor Sununu released guidelines for libraries on Thursday, June 11. News media outlets have been reporting that libraries will open at 50 percent capacity beginning June 15, but a reading of the governor’s document offers more comprehensive information. In fact, many of the task force’s recommendations speak to limiting in-person services whenever possible.

The governor has been clear that reopening any business/industry is not mandated, and that for libraries any reopening plan is the responsibility of their governing body – in our case, the Trustees of the Rodgers Library – as designated by NH RSA 202-A. There are no timelines in the guidance document, just that libraries MAY open to the public at 50% capacity starting June 15.

In short, the phases of re-opening are strictly a local decision. There are many guidelines the library director, trustees and staff must consider before expanding our services, namely:

  1. Providing a safe environment for both patrons and staff,
  2. A plan to keep both patrons and staff distanced, and
  3. A plan to remain flexible if circumstances change.

We will be providing continuous messaging and updates on this website, and also on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Unless you already subscribe, consider subscribing to our weekly newsletter for the latest library news. As always, you are welcome to call and speak to a librarian or me during our regular hours (see phone number below), or leave a message in our general delivery mailbox during after-hours, or chat online with a librarian.

Please know that we – the director, staff and trustees of the Rodgers Library – are doing our best to provide services to the extent we are able to do so safely.  We are working hard towards a re-opening plan that will keep you safe, and truly appreciate your patience and support.

Very best regards,

Linda

Monday through Wednesday, Friday: 10am – 2pm
Thursday: 5-8pm

Community Stories

The George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library and Hudson Cable TV are launching a
community-wide project to encourage Hudson residents, both adults and children, to
document their personal experiences during the coronavirus outbreak and contribute
them to the library archive. We invite everyone in Hudson to participate.

How to Participate
We are interested in your stories. These could be about the shift to remote instruction
and learning, studying and working from home, working at essential jobs, the impact of
store closures, and the ways you and the people in your lives are staying in touch.  How
has life changed? What is your daily routine? What makes you happy? What makes you
cry?  Include craft projects, your Netflix list, quarantine walks, and generally whatever
gets you through this time.

Files are being gathered in Google Drive, which requires participants to have a Gmail account to upload files. If you do not have a Gmail account, or have questions or problems with the form, please send files and diary entries to stories@rodgerslibrary.org.

The method of recording your thoughts is up to you. Some suggestions include writing
in a journal, recording voice memos, saving your social media posts, taking photos
and/or videos, or creating multimedia works of digital storytelling.
Make sure to comply with stay-at-home orders while self-documenting. These entries
will be shared and made accessible to others.
Please do not share with the community any information you prefer to keep private.

Need some help with how to capture your experiences? Email us at stories@rodgerslibrary.org.

The Submission Process
Click on the link below to submit your items. You will be able to sign an agreement
allowing Rodgers Memorial Library and Hudson Cable TV to preserve your submission,
and you will receive important information about the copyright and use of your content.
Submissions will not be available to the public immediately. Library and HCTV staff will
work together to create a lasting memory of this time in our local
community.

Thank You!

Your contribution to documenting this unprecedented outbreak is greatly appreciated. Archives usually receive historical documentation years after something has happened, but doing it in the moment allows the primary reaction to be genuine and organic.
